Okay I feel old — please pray

I am about to become a great aunt. The c-section for my niece is scheduled on Thursday.  Here is an exerpt from a e-mail from my poetic sister.

PLEASE?PRAY for?a safe delivery for little girl, and?that Mommy would be safe
and everything would go smoothly.? Pray for her husband, who will be with her,
that he can ‘be there’ for the new mother and will be profoundly touched by the birth of
their first child. Pray also for her doctor and nurses?to have wisdom and to be well
rested and focused. Philippians 4:6-7 is the perfect prayer for  the parents as
they count down the days.

I will get back to you with all the details after Thursday!

Thank you for being a part of our lives!

Humbly,

poetic sister
PS I am sorry if I inadvertently forgot anyone! Please forward this to anyone I may
have overlooked!

  1. bcjenster says:

Praying and looking forward to hearing all about the precious baby!!

  2. I suggest the new mom check out the La Leche League website.

Nursing after a C-section can be a bit more challenging (milk comes in later, it’s painful to lift/hold the baby, baby might be affected by the anesthesia, etc).

I nursed three C-sec babies, for a long time. I received a lot of well meaning, but ultimately ignorant and poor, advice, from many loving friends and relatives.

If your niece is interested in nursing, she might find it helpful to look up some of the issues before she gives birth.

She can gather information from the La Leche League website or she can call a La Leche League leader on the 1-800 number.

Nursing assistance is FREE from La Leche League.
